Very sad to note that some of our students have poor command in English proficiency. I myself came from religious background, my secondary school's medium of instruction was in Arabic language. At home, l read Reader's Digest since l was in standard 6. Until now, l am still their loyal subscriber. Besides magazines, l also read non-fiction in English and make sure at least l spent 30 minutes to read NST or The Star on a daily basis without fail.
You must have a very strong will to master this language. Once your add more new words and make a habit of using it, your confidence will increase and it shows on the way you write and speak. Also, not forgetting, it is good when you want to do your assignments and project papers.
So, it is not too late for you yo start buying good magazines but make it is in English. It is not a shame to read Malay magazines ( l do buy some of them as the contents are good too). The point is, we have to try every means just to make sure we master the language.
So, this weekend, pick up any NST or english magazines and do not forget your dictionary!Pleas bring along your dictionary to the class.

emm first of all, comment on this section, improving English is esentials in our increasingly mordenized world today. but some thinks Malay language should be put foward, but for me, we need English. its not that we want it, its that because we NEED it. the world spins by English. we move in english. thats why we need it.
second of all, would like to comment on the quiz that u`ve conducted last week. i like to oppose a more rich question and not like the one before. -not to say the question is easy, but i can`t believe of how much i`ve studied and all that ever came out is just 1percent of what i`ve read. ~~result : frustration-
