Is by thinking BIG! Just kidding!
Foremost, just to answer my student’s question on whether this coming quiz for all three codes l am teaching this semester, the format either objective or essay? The answer is neither both! It will be in the form of structured questions, perhaps 1 or 2 objective questions. Do not worry. Just revise whatever we have discussed during tutorials. The answer is there…Good luck!
Tips on how to study law;
1) Please take note that all the acts and cases are sources of law. The manual is meant to facilitate the lecture. That’s why it has themes like definitions, general rules, exceptional to the general rules, ways, situations, the effects, the remedies, elements, types, procedures, etc;
2) Kindly use your imagination. It works! Especially when you want to answer a problematic question. Sharpen your skill as a counselor or problem solver. Remember, law follow our human nature (like happiness/peace and dislike cruel /dispute/disaster!);
3) Read beforehand just to gain general overview of what the topic is all about. Make sure you understand the objective behind each topic. Each topic is designed interdepently;
4) Personalize your own mind mapping or simpler notes per topic. Do it on a weekly basis (make sure you have all the topics done. Not just few topics!);
5) Be prepared for each coming tutorial. Ask questions! Always prepare 2 or 3 questions so that you are able to ask during tutorials. Make sure you also give your opinions as well just to show your level of comprehension. This will impress the lecturer and everyone is happy during tutorials!
6) Have 3 or 4 sets of past year examinations questions in order to identify the format, type of questions, their lengths and portion of marks. Identify certain keywords frequently used in the questions:
Advise : present information (provision or legal principles), opinion or recommendation to determine as to whether or not the party can take action.
Describe : present the details and characteristic of certain issues.
Distinguish : specify differences between two (2) points.
Discuss : provide the pros and cons on certain issues.
Illustrate : explain something by using examples especially cases.
State : express.
Reconcile : make compatible apparently conflicting statements as theories.
7) Learn and master the method and the appropriate way on how to answer problematic questions.(will be discussed during tutorials in week 6 or 7) ;
8) Disipline and always strive for the best. Motivate yourself. Feeling unmotivated, read my online articles here (free of charge!)
9) Pray and seek parents’ blessings too. Allah knows best!
So happy to receive three students came into my room to ask questions. It shows their determination to succeed from the outset. They do not apply the concept of last minute study! Anyone care to join!
Congrast to Adibah, my favourite artist ( I did not watch the show last night as needed full rest to wake up early for my writing!) I like her because she is smart and talented in singing. Reason why l like her is because she has people skill ( not just like the other artists who are glam with heavy make-up and fully sponsored designer clothes!)
Till then, have a nice day ahead!
