Discover a new you!

Salam to all,

During leisure time, why not you give a call to your old friends whom you have not seen or meet for the past few years. They might be of your great assistance. Just one simple sms or email, will make your day. Just now, l received one (1) email from a loving friend. She has a doctorate in law. Despite her hectic shcedule, she still has a time to reply to my unwinded inquiries concerning doing phd program in UK.

I am so proud of her. It motivates me to excel in whatever l do. I begin to write and read more as much as l could today! Hopefully, at the end of the day, l may have something in writting like one articel to be sent to Buletin Infousahawan and one articel for online publication.

Till then, make full use of your ample time available. Do not waste your talent if you discover thta you have skill in writing and research. Nowadays, people are more concern on what they eat, drink and live. If you can accommodate your writing with your thought and get it publish and make everyone knows on its importance, it shows that your discovery has some merits and some great significance.

Dream to mark your name in the history...Nothing is impossible. That's a new you!

Dear Puan Farhah,

It's good to discover that you have had wise intention to pursuing PhD in the UK. Go for it. I have been in communications terms with Shukriah, she's now in Durham, pursuing her PhD research in Contempt of Court (together with Syahmi who is also pursuing a PhD research in Islamic Banking in the same University under the bank Negara Scholarship). There are some of our colleagues who are pursuing and intending to pursue PhD too, like Sanusi who is now in School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) London. On another note, Maizan will be planning to make her PhD dream too - perhaps, next year. She hopes for a place in Oxford, Nottingham or Strathclyde (subject to her potential supervisor's approval on her proposal). I pray that she will get it.

As for myself, I have another 3 months to accomplish the LLM lap (pending my dissertation submission), and perhaps, will take a short break for a while and start my PhD in University of Southampton next January 2008 or April 2008 (subject to funding). I will be doing a research on "Radio Frequency Identification Technology: an interdisciplinary analysis between data surveillance and privacy laws in the UK and EU". Yeah, it's sound very high tech :), nevertheless, technology laws have been my deep passion all this while.

Alas, I would highly recommend you to pursue PhD here as the system and exposure is exceedingly innovative and dynamic. At times, the surrounding and the people demand huge patience, preserverance and strength. Nevertheless, worth to experience and making the headway for your pursuit. I wish you the best and send my warm regards to Encik Najmi and your source of inspiration - the two lovely kids. Till then, let us shine for Malaysians and the Ummah.
